…just a guy who happens to enjoy dining out with his lovely wife from time to time. We’ve been doing it pretty much since we met, (almost three decades ago), so we’ve had lots and lots of practice. OK, so why me? Well, I find myself asking did I really just hear, (or read), something so pretentious, so blatantly over-hyped, so painfully amusing related to what’s on my plate or in my glass that all I want to do is scream “No! Please stop!” at the offending party? In short, yes, occasionally, I do, so here we are.
To be clear, we’ve had remarkable – and I do mean truly remarkable – experiences related to the consumption of food and wine; I fully expect we’ll have many more too… I will attempt to share some of those experiences here.
Question – why not celebrate the efforts of those who are genuinely interested in making us happy simply by doing the very best they can in the field, or in the kitchen, or in the cellar, or at the market, or even at the table? These intrepid souls deserve our thanks. To those who’s primary purpose in life is to delight others with food and drink, I salute you!
My objective is to entertain, (first and foremost), and maybe even enlighten. If the humor works, great, then I’ve accomplished my goal. If not, I’ll do what I can to improve the writing.
…well, maybe I’ll improve the writing.
Regardless, I can assure you we will continue to dine out, seeking those magical moments, whenever and wherever they might occur. Stay tuned.
